One of the strategies of the Advantage Livingston effort is a move toward Collaboration, Consolidation and Cooperation. You can read that section of the Advantage Livingston report by clicking here.

The Cooperation, Collaboration strategy portion of Advantage Livingston includes an objective to consolidate local government services. We are blessed in Livingston County to have government entities that embrace that concept. This list is provided in an effort to show the high level of cooperation that already exists.

Click here for the list of services being shared throughout Livingston County’s units of government.

Advantage Livingston does not take credit for most of the items on the list. We are presenting them, however, so those interested can see the depth of cooperation that we have among our communities. Their willingness to work together — demonstrated by what has already been accomplished — will show you why we have confidence there will be significant additions to the list as we progress.

The Advantage Livingston Cooperation, Collaboration strategy also includes the objective to increase Centralization of School Services.

We feel that the schools in our communities have shown wonderful cooperation. Their very difficult operating environment has provided significant incentive for them to increase efficiencies by finding ways to centralize their services. Not only do they have a strong track record of success in this regard, but additional avenues for cooperation are constantly being explored by their staffs and their board representatives.

Click here for the list of shared school services in Livingston County.

The Steering Committee of Advantage Livingston has determined that because of the active school efforts to collaborate, our efforts can be more productively focused elsewhere. We absolutely support the efforts of the schools and stand ready to help them in any way we can. We are not, however, holding separate committee meetings on School Centralization at this time.

The list of shared services among our schools is certainly not all-inclusive. It does, however, serve to underscore the strength of the efforts being made by our educational institutions.
